"Men have become the tools of their tools." --Henry David Thoreau I have a pile of old electronic parts sitting in a box in my office - old RAM sticks, failed hard drives, broken headphones, parts of things long forgotten and more. As when I was a kid, they are all saved with the thought that someday I'll fix it or make something of it. The thing is, I never do make anything. The menagerie of misfit electronic parts just continues to gather dust in the corner. Maybe someday the pile will reach a critical mass and make something of itself. Perhpas then, it will be us humans in the corner... 29/365 Copyright 2015 Scott Norris Photography www.scottnorrisphotography.com
We stayed overnight at a friends place in Glenview, Illinois. This little pond is directly across the street from their house. In the morning, the pond was as smooth as glass and the light was just perfect. I'm reading a book on the Impressionist Landscape painters and the techniques they used and I thought I'd have a go at creating that type of look for this shot in post-processing. I kind of feel like I'm cheating on my photo a day for a year challenge when I photograph my son. He makes a really great and readily available model. But then again, I'm making the rules of my 365 project, so get used to seeing shots of him. I'm sure there will be quite a few more through the next 300 or so days! Getting him to stand still AND look at the camera is a challenge for sure but this time he stood still and allowed me to run off five or six shots.
