A tiny, solitary feather floats in the warm glow of the evening light. These are the moments I live for as an artist. The simple, quiet, profound moments when the cacophony of the day fades away and nothing is left but the exquisite calm. In these moments, it does not matter if I create or not. What is important, is that I can be open to what I see and feel and that I listen to the questions being asked. Day 284 of my 365 photo a day project. It's summertime. A time to be with friends and family, enjoy a cold beer or soda, and talk about life and everything. And with everything going on in the world these days, we need to do a lot more of that. We need to talk more, be with each other more, and get out from behind our screens more. Of course, I know this won't solve all of the problems, but it would be a great start. What'ya say? Who's up for a beer? First round's on me! Day 283 of my 365 photo a day project. In light of recent events, I wanted to create something, anything, that could express what I am feeling. This is a feeble attempt at that because the feelings and emotions are so strong and varied. In any case, this image shows a duality of perception. The two ropes are bound to one another, tied up, and seemingly strangling each other. On the other hand, they are embracing each other, supporting each other, while making each other stronger. Now, what will happen in the coming days, weeks, and months? I wish I knew. However, I pray that the latter perception, that embrace, is the outcome. Day 282 of my 365 photo a day project. Copyright 2016 Scott Norris Photography scottnorrisphotography.com
