"Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain." --Henry David Thoreau I am fascinated by decaying leaves. Like little leaf shaped skeletons, I still find them here and there, even in the dog days of summer. Perhaps that is mother nature letting us know autumn is just around the corner. "By a Carpenter mankind was made, and only by that Carpenter can mankind be remade." --Desiderius Erasmus Just a few of the tools of the trade for a carpenter. I cannot help but be in awe of some of the things a woodworker can do will a saw and chisel and a piece of good wood. From the smallest little trinket to entire majestic cathedrals, the work of a great craftsman is pure beauty. Day 309 of my 365 photo a day project. How many times did my son climb up and down this tunnel of fun at the local church playground? Way too many to count. But I'm not complaining. I could sit and watch (and photograph!) him running, sliding, climbing, laughing, and playing all day and all night. For this shot, he stopped moving long enough to mug for the camera before he was off on more wild adventures. Ah, to be a child again. Or at least have that energy!
