A single yellow Maple leaf. There are hundreds, if not thousands of them outside my window. It seems like almost all of them are on the ground. There is still gorgeous Autumn color around, you just have to look a little lower for it. But that's ok. Whether in the air or on the ground, the beauty of nature is, and always will be, there. The colors of fall are beginning to fade and soon enough the air will chill and the snow will fall. But that also means that the holiday season is upon us. We will spend time with family and friends, give thanks, feast, trim trees, light candles, celebrate miracles and be of good cheer. We will smile, laugh, hug, give, and love. Why can't we be like that all the time? Like the red and gold leaves of fall, we are all unique. But we are also very much the same. Let's try to remember that. A dry leaf sits on a park bench in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. The colors are just about past peak now around here, but the beauty of Autumn is still all around. Soon enough, the trick or treaters will be at our door, daylight savings time will end, and Jack Frost will nip at our noises. The gold and red and yellow will give way to brown and gray and finally to the white of snow. But until then, I will try to capture as much of Nature's fireworks as I can.
